Friday, October 12th, 2018. By: Conrado Vina

It’s hard to summarize everything that happened in these past 2 years.

The whole story is more fit for a book than for a blog post.

In the meantime here is a quick recap of the most relevant and high-level topics/news I’d like to share today:

  • The latest stable version (Version 3.6.3.5) is just released – and it is our best version ever
  • From version 3.4 to version 3.6 we finished developing the modules for invoicing, costs and expenses, risks, and forms. Plus a ton of fixes, UX improvements, and overall system performance.
  • We’ll be rolling out the latest version to all clients starting today and through the upcoming weeks.
  • We are working on a ton more improvements and new features.
  • We moved our repository from Sourceforge to Github. So stay tuned therefor updates on the Community Edition
  • We are working on an updated website to make it easier to engage with us and provide more updates on our activities
  • We’ve used the Feng Office Enterprise Edition as the core foundation to a new product we’re launching designed specifically for technical professional services (specifically engineering, geotechnical and environmental consultants).

Check out the latest version our and give us your feedback!

If you want Feng Office for your business or professional organization and would like to check out the Professional or Enterprise Editions, please contact us and we’ll gladly do a personalized demo for you (Note that we are requesting you submit email accounts with your business domain. Because of ever increasing demand on our time we are currently ignoring 99% of requests coming from generic email addresses).

Oh, and to answer some of the most recent FAQ:

  • We are fully GDPR compliant.
  • Yes, we are working on a PHP 7 (And MySQL 8) release

Cheers!

Feng Office for IQTell users

Tuesday, June 27th, 2017. By: Conrado Vina

Last Thursday we started to see a big spike in our trials – and in the requests to test the e-mail module.

We quickly learned that a fellow software company (IQTell) was planning to shut down at the end of July.

I don’t know the IQTell team personally but I am a big fan of GTD (more on this, and how it influenced a lot of what Feng Office is, on a subsequent post), which a large portion of their community embraces. And when a fellow software company closes down it is never received as good news as we understand too well the challenges of building a successful software company – even if you have a passionate and loyal customer base. And from my conversations with IQTell users they certainly have a passionate community, IQTell delivered excellent support, and its team built an amazing product. We wish everyone in the IQTell team the best of success in whatever endeavors they chose to pursue next.

Many of these users share the same vision we have for the product the team and me have been building for almost 10 years. So for those IQTell users who would like to join us we are offering a 50% discount if they come over before IQTell officially shuts down services at the end of July.

For those IQTell users evaluating Feng Office (you can kick off your own free, 30 day trial here) we are collecting their needs and prioritizing their requests. Our goal is to get us to feature parity as quickly as possible. We will be sharing our plans and additional information with IQTell users on subsequent posts here and through other channels.
